Why should I choose cable over satellite TV?
With cable you won’t lose signal because an unruly cloud passed overhead, nor will you have to pay to hook a receiver to every television in the house. And because cable is delivered to you locally you’ll get a better selection of local channels at a better price.
How is digital cable any different then the cable I had 20 years ago?
With digital cable everything is sharper, cleaner, and most importantly, more efficient. Thanks to digital cable technology we can now fit many channels into the same space that was once occupied by a single analog cable channel. This means that we can build a larger and more diverse selection of channels.
Do I need a digital box for every TV in the house?
No. You can have as many, or as few digital boxes as you want. Many customers choose to hook their digital boxes to the televisions they watch most frequently, but you can choose to put them wherever you like. Any televisions that don’t have boxes can still receive any of the great channels available on our Basic Cable package.
Just what is High Definition TV?
Simply put, HDTV offers higher resolution images and higher quality sound then older Standard Definition signals are capable of. Images in HD are more than five times sharper than Standard Def pictures, and they have twice the color, which makes for richer, more vibrant images.
How do I get High Def?
To watch TV in High Definition you will need to have, A) an HD-capable television, and B) HD service. If you do not have one, or the other of these necessary requirements you WILL NOT be watching television in HD. If you don’t know whether, or not you have an HDTV you should call the manufacturer, or examine it carefully for any stickers or markings. If it is an HDTV you will find some mark to that effect. If you are unsure of whether, or not you are receiving HD service, please Contact Us to find out.
What sort of channels do you have in HD?
Haefele TV offers dozens of HD channels from favorites like NBC, ABC, CBS, ESPN, USA, Food, Discovery Channel and many more.
Do you offer an on-screen guide?
Yes. Included in the digital set-top boxes is an Interactive Program Guide. This easy-to-use guide will let you know what’s on and show you when.
What should I do if my pay-per-view isn’t working?

Internet FAQ’s
Why should I choose cable Internet over a DSL connection?
Cable Internet has a number of advantages over other connection methods. Firstly, our cable Internet connection is, on average, 200 times faster than DSL service. Plus, with cable your distance from the source will not seriously impede, or prohibit your ability to get fast, reliable service. And since your Internet service is dependent on the cable infrastructure, rather than the home wiring, you won’t be turned away because your house isn’t wired with the necessary wire.
Just how fast is Haefele TV’s cable Internet?
Haefele’s flagship CableRocket Internet package is up to 200 times faster than a standard DSL connection.
Will I always get the quoted speeds?
There are a number of technological factors that can affect the connection speed. Whether it’s server lag, or general Internet congestion, you might not always experience the exact speed specifications of a stated package. However, at Haefele TV we work hard to mitigate this inevitable loss, and you’ll find that loss is generally within 5% of the connection’s maximum capabilities.
Does Haefele have a bandwidth cap, and if so, how high is it?
Haefele TV does have a bandwidth cap on the two lower tier packages, however the higher tier packages are all unlimited data. Upgrades to our system, already in progress, will allow us to increase the bandwidth cap. More information can be found in our Acceptable Use Policy.
How will the cap affect my ability to download files from the Web?
The cap does not stop your computer from downloading anything, but you will be charged for over-usage if you exceed the set limit. The best way to keep from going over the bandwidth cap is to monitor your monthly traffic using the tool found on our local portal.
Can I still stream movies?
You can certainly stream, however if you have an internet package that has limited data you may want to monitor your usage, as most HD movies will use 2-6GB of data per 2 hours of streaming. SD movies will generally use less than 3GB of data per a 2 hour viewing period.
Can I have multiple email addresses with Haefele TV’s Internet?
Absolutely. All of our Internet packages allow for multiple email accounts. Haefele uses Google Apps to power it’s online services, so with a Haefele email account you’ll receive the same great email functionality and interface available to Gmail users.
Will I be able to keep my old email address?
Maybe. If you’re already using a third party email provider, e.g. Gmail, Yahoo, MSN etc, you’ll be able to keep those for as long as you want. If, however, you were using an email address provided by another ISP, you won’t be able to keep that address when you sign up with Haefele.
Is Technical Support available for Haefele’s Internet subscribers?
Of course. Friendly, knowledgeable technical support representatives are available via toll-free phone, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. We can be reached at 607-422-3000, or 1-866-708-1556.
How secure is my Haefele TV Internet connection?
Cable Internet is not more, or less secure than any other connection method. Any link to the Internet is a potential security risk. Fortunately there are many effective security tools available at little, or no cost. We recommend that you read through the information found under the “Learn how to Secure your System” link located in the Tech Support portion of our local portal.
Does Haefele TV provide wireless services?
Yes. For a monthly fee Haefele now provides and maintains wireless networks for our customers.

Acceptable Use Policy
Haefele TV Inc. Acceptable Use Policy
Haefele TV Inc may modify this Acceptable Use Policy at any time without notifying its users. For this reason, Haefele TV Inc users should consult the Haefele TV Inc website (www.htva.net/policy/) regularly to ensure that their actions are in compliance with the most recent version of the Acceptable Use Policy. In the event of any conflict between this Acceptable Use Policy and the Haefele TV Inc Terms and Conditions of Use, this Acceptable Use Policy will govern.
You agree that, if any portion of this Policy is held invalid or unenforceable, that portion will be construed consistent with applicable law as nearly as possible, and the remaining portions will remain in full force and effect.
Haefele TV Inc provides a variety of Internet Services (the Services) to residences and businesses (the Customer).
1.0 Introduction
1.1 This Acceptable Use Policy is designed to foster an online environment of mutual respect in which everyone is able to enjoy the benefits of Haefele TV Inc . We believe that the restrictions set out in this Acceptable Use Policy represents a fair balance between the freedom of the individual and the need for some basic rules to ensure that Haefele TV Inc’s Internet access is not used in an abusive or illegal way.
1.2 Haefele TV Inc users are responsible for ensuring that their accounts are used in accordance with this Acceptable Use Policy. If Haefele TV Inc has reason to suspect that a user, or anyone using a user’s account, is violating this Policy, then the account in question may be suspended pending an investigation. If, after an investigation, Haefele TV Inc determines that an account has been used in violation of this Policy, Haefele TV Inc may, in its discretion, terminate the user account.

1.3 Haefele TV Inc does not actively monitor its user’s use of its services. We rely on our users to govern themselves and to protect the integrity of the network by reporting any violations of this Acceptable Use Policy to cs@htva.net
1.4 Haefele TV Inc has the right, but not the obligation, to investigate any violation or alleged violation of this Acceptable Use Policy, including the right to examine any information or material on Haefele TV Inc’s servers.
1.5 Haefele TV Inc has the right, but not the obligation, to remove any content that it deems, in its sole discretion, to be in violation of any part of this Acceptable Use Policy.
1.6 Haefele TV Inc has the right, but not the obligation, to take any steps it deems necessary to prevent violations of this Acceptable Use Policy from occurring.
1.7 The failure of Haefele TV Inc to enforce this Policy, for whatever reason, shall not be construed as a waiver of any right to do so at any time.
2.0 Illegal Activities
Haefele TV Inc users must not use Haefele TV Inc to encourage, facilitate or engage in any illegal activities, including, without limitation:
- defamation: posting or transmitting any material which is defamatory under any applicable law;
- fraud: posting or transmitting any information that you know or ought to know is false, and that you intend others to rely on;
- unlawful material: posting or disseminating unlawful material
- false advertising: posting or transmitting any advertising or promotional materials that contain false, deceptive or misleading statements, claims or representations;
- copyright violation: posting or transmitting any information, software, photograph, video, graphic, music, sound and other material in violation of another person’s copyright; and
- trade-mark violation: posting, transmitting, displaying or using any words or symbols that violate any other person’s rights in its trademark or trade-name.
3.0 Electronic Mail
3.1 Haefele TV Inc users must not use Haefele TV Inc e-mail to:
- send unsolicited bulk e-mail (so-called “Spam”);
- send, or cause to be sent, large volumes of unsolicited e-mail to a single or multiple people or entities (so-called “E-Mail Bombing”);
- repeatedly send email to any person or entity who does not wish to receive it. If a recipient asks to stop receiving email from a Haefele TV Inc user, then that Haefele TV Inc user must not send that person further email; and
- subscribe to any email list or service on behalf of a third party without that third party’s consent.
3.2 Haefele TV Inc users must not engage in any of the activities described in paragraph 3.1 from another provider’s email service and use a Haefele TV Inc account as an email return address or “drop” for responses.
3.3 Haefele TV Inc users must not forge, alter or remove any email header.
Any email address at the htva.net domain is property of Haefele TV Inc and may be terminated or re-assigned without notice.
4.0 Security, Privacy and “Hacking”
The Customer is responsible for any misuse of the Services that originate from their account, even activities committed by any friend, family, co-worker, employee, guest or anyone with access to the account. Customers must ensure that others not gain unauthorized access to the Services.
4.1 Haefele TV Inc users must not:
- disrupt or interfere with the normal operation of Haefele TV Inc systems, networks, or activities in any way that adversely affects the ability of other people, or systems to use Haefele TV Inc services or the Internet, including, but not limited to:
- denial of service attacks;
- flooding of networks;
- attempts to overload a service; and
- attempts to cause system crashes,
- or attempt to do so; or
- use any unauthorized program to connect the user to any Haefele TV Inc Internet Relay Chat (“IRC”) server, including, but not limited to, IRC bots or clonebots;
- gain access or attempt to gain access to the private systems or data of Haefele TV Inc, without the prior consent of Haefele TV Inc.
4.2 Haefele TV Inc users must not use their Haefele TV Inc accounts to:
- circumvent or attempt to circumvent security or authentication systems on any host, network hardware, or user accounts, including, but not limited to, logging into any server, account or network without authorization and electronically probing the security of any system or network; or
- disrupt or interfere with the normal operation of any system or network operated by any third party, or attempt to do so.
- gain access or attempt to gain access to the private systems or data of Haefele TV Inc, or any third party without the prior consent of Haefele TV Inc or the third party.
5.0 Usenet Newsgroups
5.1 Haefele TV Inc users must not:
- post a single article or substantially similar articles to an excessive number of newsgroups, or cross-post to an excessive number of newsgroups;
- post articles on a newsgroup which are off-topic according to the newsgroup charter;
- post binary or encoded binary files to newsgroups not specifically designated for that purpose;
- post commercial messages on a non-commercial Haefele TV Inc newsgroup without prior approval from Haefele TV Inc;
- engage in any of (a), (b), (c) or (d) from a provider other than Haefele TV Inc and use an account on Haefele TV Inc as an email return address or “drop” for responses, or
- engage in any of (a), (b), (c) or (d) from a provider other than Haefele TV Inc for the purpose of drawing attention to a service hosted by or on Haefele TV Inc’s network.
Haefele TV Inc reserves the right to discontinue access to any Usenet newsgroup at any time and for any reason.
6.0 Censorship and Adult Materials
Haefele TV Inc believes in freedom of expression and the right of individuals to decide for themselves what they want to see and listen to. We do not believe it is the place of an ISP to censor or regulate the Internet. However, users must not use Haefele TV Inc to transmit or post any information or image that is criminally obscene or otherwise prohibited under any applicable law.
Haefele TV Inc assumes NO responsibility for Internet content available through the Services. Customers are responsible for restricting access to sexually explicit material on the Internet, by purchasing the appropriate filtering software, or by monitoring Internet use. Content questions or complaints should be addressed to the content provider.
7.0 Miscellaneous
7.1 False Pretenses. Users must not use Haefele TV Inc to impersonate any person or use a fictitious user name with any of Haefele TV Inc’s services, including in any e-mail, Usenet posting, or Internet Relay Chat (“IRC”) site. This restriction does not preclude the use of nicknames in IRC, the use of anonymous remailer services, or postings to any site that permits pseudonyms.
7.2 Unsolicited Advertising. Users must not use Haefele TV Inc to post or transmit any unsolicited advertising, promotional materials or other forms of solicitation to any person except in those areas and on those websites that are designated for such a purpose.
7.3 Harassment, Threats and Abuse. Users must not use Haefele TV Inc to harass, threaten, or abuse any person or group of people by any means.
7.4 Crude or Offensive Postings. Users must not use Haefele TV Inc to post offensive or crude messages or images on publicly accessible pages or sites, except where such messages or images are appropriate having regard to the nature of the site. Haefele TV Inc has the right, but not the obligation, to remove messages or images that Haefele TV Inc, in its sole discretion, determines are offensive.
7.5 Multiple access. Users must not maintain more than one simultaneous connection to Haefele TV Inc or any Haefele TV Inc service, IRC Chat group, or newsgroup.
7.6 Disruptive Conduct. Users must not use Haefele TV Inc to disrupt the normal flow of online dialogue, or otherwise act in a manner that negatively affects other users, individuals or entities.
8.0 Bandwidth/Network Traffic and Other Limitations
8.1 You must comply with the current bandwidth/network traffic, data storage and other limitations on the Services.
Users must ensure that their activity does not improperly restrict, inhibit or degrade any other customer’s use of the Services, nor represent (in the sole judgment of Haefele TV Inc) an unusually large burden on the network itself. The guidelines for Bandwidth/Network Traffic Usage/month for each service package are the following: Century Service (100Mbps) – Unlimited, UltraRocket (70Mbps) – Unlimited, SuperRocket + (50Mbps) – Unlimited, SuperRocket (35Mbps) – Unlimited, CableRocket (25Mbps) – 500 Gigabyte limit, or MiniRocket (3Mbps) – 50 Gigabyte limit. Users exceeding the Bandwidth/Network Traffic amounts specified for their Service Package may be charged $0.25 for each Gigabyte used in excess of their specified amount. Additional 100GB modules of network traffic may be purchased for $10/mo. These modules may be applied to the customer’s current month so long as they are purchased in advance of the month’s-end billing. Customers may also unsubscribe from their additional bandwidth module(s) mid-month, but changes will be retroactively applied to that month and any overage fee(s) will still apply.
If you purchased service under a residential plan, we reserve the right to immediately disconnect or modify your access to the Haefele TV Network or any Haefele TV Service if we determine, in our sole and absolute discretion, that your use of the Haefele TV Network or any Haefele TV Service is, or at any time was, inconsistent with normal residential usage patterns. In addition, you may be required to pay our higher rates for commercial service for all periods in which your use of the Service was inconsistent with normal residential use.
Users must ensure that their activity does not improperly restrict, disrupt, inhibit, degrade or impede Haefele TV Inc’s ability to deliver the Services and monitor the Services, backbone, network nodes, and/or other network services. Customers may not resell, share, or otherwise distribute the Services or any portion thereof to any third party without the written consent of Haefele TV Inc. For example, you cannot provide Internet access to others through a wireless or dial-up connection, host shell accounts over the Internet, provide email or news service, or send a news feed unless express permission is granted by the customer agreement.
You may not provide network services to others via the Haefele TV Inc .
9.0 Updates
9.1 This Acceptable Use Policy is subject to change without notice. The current version of the Acceptable Use Policy is always available at www.htva.net/internet/aup.

International Calls
In order to make International calls with your Haefele TV Inc. Digital Phone, you will need to first notify us, so that we may authorize them on your account. Doing so will help us keep your phone more secure by accounting for any potential fraud attempts.
There is no charge for signing up for this service, but International calling rates do apply. Please Contact Us to add this service to your existing Digital Phone service. The process is simple and should only take a few minutes.

Can I keep my current phone number?
Most areas yes, however your current phone number must be an active number in order to port. Please call us for exclusions.
Does VOIP work the same as Landline phone service?
yes and no. VOIP digital phone service runs through a modem versus a landline , however the service works with your homes existing wiring, phone jacks and phones.
Will my phone work if there is a power outage?
With VOIP, if the power goes out and our equipment is tied in with the outage then your phone service will not work until the power is fully restored.
Do I need any equipment?
Yes, you will need a phone modem in order to have VOIP digital phone service. We have modems available for purchase or rent.
